Burj Khalifa Entry Tickets Overview

Rising 828 meters above the desert in the heart of Downtown Dubai, the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world and the most iconic landmark in the Middle East. Designed by the Chicago-based architect Adrian Smith of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill and completed in January 2010, the tower shattered the previous world height record by an extraordinary margin and transformed Dubai's skyline into one of the most recognizable urban panoramas on earth.

The tower's primary public observation experience, At The Top, occupies levels 124 and 125 at heights of 452 and 456 meters above street level respectively. A double-deck elevator traveling at 10 meters per second carries visitors from the ground floor to the 124th floor in under 60 seconds. Level 124 features an outdoor observation terrace, high-powered AR telescopes, and floor-to-ceiling glass with clear views across the entire Dubai metropolitan area. Level 125 offers a spacious 360-degree observation deck decorated in Arabic mashrabiya design, a VR experience simulating a climb to the tower's pinnacle, green screen photography, and AR-enhanced telescopes.

Two higher-tier experiences are available separately. At The Top SKY on level 148 at 555 meters is the world's highest outdoor observation deck with an open-air terrace, personal Guest Ambassador, and a maximum of 50 visitors at any one time. The Lounge on levels 152 to 154 at 585 meters is the highest lounge in the world offering a curated food and beverage experience.

Know Before You Go

The Dubai Fountain is currently temporarily closed for renovation so the fountain show viewing from the deck is not currently available

Two pricing tiers apply: non-prime hours from 09:00 to 15:30 and from 20:00 to midnight are priced significantly lower than prime hours from 16:00 to 19:00, with both offering extraordinary views from 452 meters

Note that your ticket is valid only for the specific date and time slot selected at booking and entry outside your allocated window is not permitted, so arriving at the Dubai Mall entrance at least 30 minutes before your slot is essential

Book your Burj Khalifa At The Top tickets online well in advance as prime sunset slots between 16:00 and 19:00 sell out days ahead, particularly during peak tourist season from October to April

The check-in point is on the lower ground floor of the Dubai Mall near the Burj Khalifa elevator and is separate from the mall's main entrances, so allowing navigation time is important

FAQs

1What is the difference between prime and non-prime hours at the Burj Khalifa?

Prime hours run from 16:00 to 19:00 daily and cover the golden hour and sunset period, when tickets are priced at a premium due to extraordinary demand. Non-prime hours cover the morning and early afternoon from 09:00 to 15:30 and the evening from 20:00 to midnight. Non-prime tickets are significantly cheaper while still offering spectacular views, with morning visits delivering excellent clarity and evening visits providing the full illuminated city skyline panorama.

2What is At The Top at the Burj Khalifa?

At The Top is the primary public observation experience at the Burj Khalifa, located on levels 124 and 125 at heights of 452 and 456 meters above street level. Visitors ascend in a double-deck elevator at 10 meters per second, reaching the deck in under 60 seconds. The experience includes outdoor and indoor viewing areas, high-powered AR telescopes, a VR simulation of climbing to the pinnacle, green screen photography, and 360-degree city panoramas.

3What is At The Top SKY at the Burj Khalifa?

At The Top SKY is a premium tier observation experience on level 148 at 555 meters, the world's highest outdoor observation deck. It includes a personal Guest Ambassador, Arabic coffee and dates, a dedicated elevator, and a maximum of 50 visitors at any one time for an exclusive and uncrowded experience. It requires a separate, higher-priced ticket from the standard At The Top admission and is available from 12:00 to 22:00 daily.

4Is the Dubai Fountain visible from the Burj Khalifa?

The Dubai Fountain is located on the Burj Khalifa Lake directly below the tower. However, the Dubai Fountain is currently temporarily closed for renovation works and its scheduled performances are not currently running. Visitors should check the official Burj Khalifa website at burjkhalifa.ae before their visit for the latest status on the fountain's reopening before making this a key reason for choosing a specific visit time.

5How long should I spend at the Burj Khalifa At The Top?

Most visitors spend between 1 to 1.5 hours at the Burj Khalifa At The Top experience, including the elevator ascent, time on both observation decks, the VR experience, and the descent. There is no hard time limit on the observation decks once inside with a timed ticket. Visitors who want to make the most of views in both daylight and after dark should book a non-prime slot approximately 90 minutes before sunset to experience both conditions.

6What is the best time to visit the Burj Khalifa?

Sunset visits booking a slot arriving approximately 90 minutes before sunset are widely considered the most spectacular, allowing visitors to experience Dubai in daylight before the city's lights illuminate the skyline across a single extended visit. Morning visits from 09:00 offer the clearest atmospheric conditions and shortest queues. Evening visits from 20:00 offer the full illuminated city skyline at the significantly lower non-prime price and are excellent value.

7How do I get to the Burj Khalifa?

The Burj Khalifa is located at 1 Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai. The most convenient connection is the Dubai Metro Red Line to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station, followed by a short walk through the Dubai Mall to the dedicated Burj Khalifa check-in entrance on the lower ground floor. Taxis and ride-hailing services drop off at the Dubai Mall main entrance. Paid parking is available at the Dubai Mall for visitors arriving by car.

8Is the Burj Khalifa suitable for visitors with a fear of heights?

The Burj Khalifa observation deck is an enclosed climate-controlled environment with floor-to-ceiling glass panels and a secured outdoor terrace. While the height of 452 meters is genuinely extraordinary, many visitors with mild height sensitivity find the enclosed setting manageable. The VR and green screen experiences provide additional engagement for those who prefer to focus on activities rather than looking directly down. Tickets are non-refundable within 48 hours of the visit.
